Sprout Magazine

The brief for this project was to create a 28-page sustainable quarterly magazine based on one of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. My magazine targets multiple goals including Goal #13: Climate Action, Goal #3: Good Health and Wellbeing, and Goal #12: Responsible Production and Consumption. Sprout is a quarterly publication all about veganism. It contains vegan news, recipes, interviews, and infographics to encourage people to follow a plant-based lifestyle.

I began this project by collecting inspiration. I looked at cookbooks for layout inspiration and vegan documentaries for content.

Process

I visited a local farm, Kyle Family Farm, to photograph fresh produce. I then drove around in hopes of finding a cow (luckily not uncommon in central Jersey) and pulled over on the side of a busy road to capture the shot. To add playful texture, I used lemon as a stamp and incorporated it into multiple spreads. All photography is my own.
